WEBSITE UNDER CONSTRUCTION - WEAR APPROPRIATE PPE BEFORE ENTERING. DISPLAYS BEST ON PC.

Hi, I'm Catbot! This website is still under construction, and I'm a little rusty at coding, so bear with me! I'm an Australian trans girl robot-thing, collector and dabbling repairer of vintage/retro audio stuff, occasionally an artist, generally messing around! On this website you'll find information about a lot of the tech in my collection, artwork I've made, big ol infodumps on topics I find interesting (and you might too!) and other miscellany.

For the juicy information, try clicking one of the links on the navigation bar up above! Or if you want to know more about me, keep scrolling - this homepage is also my about me page. Other places you can find me include my Tumblr, my Reddit, my TikTok, and finally my Instagram! All of which do have a bit of a different variety of content, and all of them are not as curated as this website. (Or at least, as curated as I plan it to be).

So, with the formalities out of the way, time for an infodump about my third favourite topic - myself! I first started out on the internet posting under the username "steelblue8", mostly interested in the furry community - slowly chipped away at furry art and things throughout school. While originally I had planned to go into an academic/scientific field - at 12, my plan was to be an astrophycisist - after going to a highschool specifically aimed at that sort of career, I quickly found I don't actually enjoy it that much. Cue COVID and transgender realisations, and a few months into my last year of school, I decided it wasn't for me and dropped out. I was passing my subjects, but they were just phenomenally pointless in my eyes. Instead, I started a game art course at a college!

Unfortunately for me, right as I graduated that course at the end of 2022, Unity started pulling bullshit, and the games industry in general isn't really thriving right now, so my eventual goal of a career 3D modelling is a bit of a pipe dream. You can see some of my 3D work on the "My artwork" page! These days, I work a basic office job, though thankfully I've been able to get a 4-day workweek, and spend my spare time cooking, buying and tinkering with retro audio stuff, and occasionally drawing! I have autism, if it wasn't clear from the website, though I am comparatively "high-functioning" in that I can pretend to be non-autistic with a certain degree of accuracy. Also some flavour of plural-adjacent! While I started out on the internet in the furry community, these days I'm much more robotically aligned - that artwork on the left there of Catbot is actually a photo of me in real life! Yes, really!

Some other projects I've gotten up to include a truly terrible web-chat platform called "Disclocated" - a knockoff version of discord as the school we went to had blocked it, made with some friends - I made most of the CSS/styling, and made the website look.. tolerable. I also made a bunch of gaming youtube videos for a little while throughout highschool and college, though these days I don't draw as much enjoyment from gaming so I haven't kept at it, and I'm slowly chipping away at some 3D models for a (probably perpetually unfinished) train game called Highball. I've also dabbled a little bit in some scifi writing for the r/HFY subreddit, and when I was very young I amassed a bit of a rock collection! (though its no rival to my current retrotech collection)

Anyway, that's the end of the about me page! Why not go visit a different part of the site? If you're bored and want some interesting places to rummage around on the internet, I highly recommend LabGuys world, the Museum of Obsolete Media, or the Douglas Self website - none of those are any affiliation to me, its just webpages I visit often because I find things interesting, so maybe you will too!. Or maybe you can comment below, if I've added a comments box. If not, suffer :]
